      TOYNTON— MADGWICK.
The quiet little village of Denison Town was
the scene of a very pretty wedding on the 27th
ultimo, which was celebrated in the Church of
England, the Rev. Mr. Hodston officiating.
The contracting parties were Miss Sophia
Louisa Madgwick and Mr. George Henry
      Toynton, of "Windorah," Wellington. The
church was prettily decorated for the occasion
by the friends of the bride, and overhanging
the altar was a handsome bridal bell. The
bride was given away by her brother-in-law,
Mr. J. A. McLeod, of Glen Ayr, Windorah,
and was attired in white silk, trimmed with
valenciennes lace and insertion, and wore the
customary wreath and veil. She carried a
shower bouquet, and wore a gold brooch, set
with diamonds and sapphires, the gift of the
bridegroom. As the party entered the church
the choir sang "The Voice that Breathed O'er
Eden." Miss Elsie Nichols (niece of the bride)
was the only bridesmaid, and was attired in
white Indian muslin, trimmed with valenciennes
lace and insertion, pale blue sash, and pale blue
crinoline straw hat, trimmed with white ostrich
feathers, blue ribbon, and forget-me-nots. She
also wore a gold brooch set with amethysts, the
gift of the bridegroom. The responsible
position of best man fell upon Mr. Charles
Toynton, brother of the bridegroom. Miss
Hodston officiated at the organ, and played the
"Wedding March" as the party left the church.
Some 30 couples accepted the invitation of Mrs.
Madgwick to the breakfast, where the usual
toasts were proposed and responded to. The
bride's going away dress was of slate grey cash-
mere, trimmed with cream silk and pale blue
ribbon ; burnt straw hat, trimmed with white
tulle, pink roses and forget-me-nots. The
happy couple left the same evening, amid
showers of rice and confetti, for Mudgee, en
route for Sydney and Melbourne, where the
honeymoon is to be spent. The presents were
      numerous.
