      FORMER RESIDENT PASSES

      MISS MAGGIE KEALY.

      The death of Miss Maggie Kealy, which occurred in Sydney, removes a member of a former well-known dis trict family. Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kealy, Her father came to the Hun ter River from Kilkenny, Ireland, and her mother was a member of the Bowe family, of the Hunter River. The late Miss Kealy was born at Largs and the family came to Hat field Park, Fosterton, in the early days. After a long residence at Fos terton, Miss Kealy and her brother, Herbert, went to Garah, where they conducted the local hotel They also

      purchased the hotel at Boomi and subsequently went into the Great Northern Hotel, Byron Bay. Surviving members of the family are Mother Dorothea (Lochinvar Con vent), Ettie (Mrs. Stack, of Sydney), Nellie (Mrs. Carrigan, of Courallie, Moree district), James (Queensland), Michael and Charles (Sydney). De- ceased brothers and sister were Pat rick, William, John, Mary (Mrs. Am brose), and Herbert. The late Miss Kealy had not been enjoying good health for some time. She was widely known and highly es teemed in the various localities with which she was associated Her kind ly nature and charitable disposition, endeared her to all. Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr. B. Butler, M.S.C., at 9 a.m. on Saturday, 7th inst, in St Brigld's, Coogee. The funeral left for Botany cemetary. Prayers at the graveside were said by Fr. L. McCarthy, M.S.C. assisted by Fr. Butler.
