COBAR —
A well-known Cobar busi-
nessman, Mr. Andrew Hogan,
died at the Cobar District Hos-
pital, on Thursday, July 9. He
was born at Bourke, 62 years
ago, and came to Cobar as a
young man to start in business,
and became widely known and
respected. During this time he
was for years a Director of the
Cobar District Hospital, and an
Alderman of the Municipal
Council, and he took a keen in-
terest in all local sporting bod-
ies. The late Mr. Hogan is sur-
vived by his widow, son Jack,
and daughters Margaret (Mrs.
Wade); Joan (Mrs. W. Chat-
field, Cobar); and Eileen (Mrs.
B. Robertson, of Quaker's Hill);
sisters Mrs. J. Le Lievre, Tun-
dulya Station, Cobar; Mrs. F.
Jackson (Bourke); Mrs. S. Lake
and Mrs. T. Quinlan (Sydney);
Mrs. K. May (Junee); and
brothers Harry and Jack (Nar-
romine). Rev. Father Ledlin
officiated at the service at St.
Laurence O'Toole's Church, and
at the graveside, when inter-
ment was made in the Catholic
section of the Cobar Cemetery,
on July 10.
