St. Francis Xavier's Church, Arn
cliffe, was chosen by Marion Schubert,
eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.
G. Schubert, of Victoria Street, Arn-
cliffe, for her marriage on Saturday
night, October 28, .to John Thomas
Collins, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs.
J. Collins, of Wickham Street, Arn-
cliffe. Entering the church on the
arm of her father, the bride wore a
tailored gown of trained white bri
dal satin, featuring a high cowled
neckline, with a cut tulle veil held in
place by a coronet of orange blos
soms. She carried a shower bouquet
of gladioli, azalias, and lily-of-the-
valley. Her two bridesmaids were
Misses Dorothy Schubert (sister), in
apricot, and Merle Evans in eau-de-
nil green, both frocks being full-
length net over taffeta, with velvet
ribbon trimmings. Thieir matching
tulle shoulder-length veils were held
in place by tulle bows, and their
shower bouquets comprised toning
gladioli. Messrs. Vincent and Ray
Collins supported their brother as
best man and groomsman respective
ly. For the reception at Baker's Hall,
Arncliffe, where sixty guests were re
ceived, the bride's mother chose navy-
blue crepe satin, with a shoulder
spray of red roses. She was assisted
by the bridegroom's mother, wearing
a navy-blue frock, her posy being of
white roses.
