- [S2] Sydney Morning Herald, Tuesday 7 December 1937.
1. BOY KILLED.
Wall Collapses After Rain.
Harry Wahlstrom, 12, of Farr Street, Rock- dale, was playing on the top of a disused quarry converted into a tennis court in Gibbes Street, Rockdale, yesterday when the concrete wall on which he was standing broke away, owing, it Is believed by the police, to the heavy rain loosening the earth. The boy fell 25 feet into the tennis court below, and about half a ton of broken concrete fell on him, one piece striking him on the head and killing him.
Leslie Mulveny, 13. vho was playing with him, escaped the fall.
The St. George Ambulance conveyed the body to the St. George Hospital.
2. A similar finding was recorded in the case of Harry Keith Wahlstrom, 12, schoolboy, of Parr Street, Rockdale.
Evidence was that Wahlstrom, in company with Leslie Nicholas Mulveney, was crossing a concrete wall at the top of a disused quarry in Gibbs Street, Rockdale on the afternoon of November 4, when the wall gave way. Wahi strom fell about 25 or 30 feet to the bottom of the quarry and was crushed beneath the fallen portion of the wall.
