      Mr. Daniel J. Grogan
      An old resident of the Forbes district.
      In the person of Mr.. Daniel Joseph
      Grogan, aged 76, died at the home of
      his daughter, Mrs. Frank Punton,
      Wyalong, at lunch hour last Friday,
      arfter being ailing for the past twelve
      months.
      The late Mr. Grogan was born at
      Yass and came to the Forbes district
      in 1893, when he selected land at Tom-
      andbll, on the Cowra Road. He rear-
      ed most of his family there and then,
      about 1907, started share-farming on
      Green's "Iandra" property, In the
      Grenfell district, where he remained
      for about six years. Then he removed
      to a property on the river at South
      Lead, Forbes, where he lived for about
      a quarter of a century, and more re-
      cently had been living in town In
      Forester street. Upon the death of his
      wife three years ago he went shortly
      afterwards to live with his daughter
      at Wyalong.
      The deceased Is survived by a fam
      ily of four sons — Denis and Bernard
      (Forbes), Patrick (Temora), Daniel
      (Newcastle) — and three daughters,
      Mary (Mrs. Alex Smith, Sydney), Ellen
      (Mrs. Thomas Smith, Calleen) and
      Hautence (Mrs. F. Punton, Wyalong).
      Ten members of the family— six sons
      and four daughters— are deceased. Mr.
      and Mrs. Grogan had a rather re-
      markable family, including two sets of
      twins, triplets and quadruplets.
      Mr. Grogan also leaves one brother
      (William, of Sydney) and one sister
      (Mrs. Neale, of Cowra), besides 34
      grandchildren and 21 great-grandchil-
      dren.
      The remains of the deceased were
      brought to Forbes on Friday and on
      Saturday afternoon were interred in
      the Catholic portion of the local ceme-
      tery alongside those of his wife. Rev.
      Father Bongiorno performed the last
      sad rites at the graveside, while Mr.
      A. G. Jones had charge of the mor-
      tuary arrangements.
