Mrs. Mary Deehan.
There passed away at the residence of her
daughter, Mrs. H. Gruber, of 'Belvaire,'
Garland, an old and well-respected resident,
in the person of Mrs. Mary Deehan, who
died on May 20 last, at the age of 93.
Her husband predeceased her by some 18
years. Deceased was born in King's
County, Ireland. Coming to Australia, she
and her husband settled in the Crookwell
district, where they remained until the
death of Mr. Deehan. Mrs. Deehan was
typical of the grand, large-hearted Irish
Catholic women who have kept the spark
of freedom and religion burning brightly
throughout the long, dark days of Ireland's
sorrow. Mrs. Deehnan leaves four daughters
and two sons to mourn their loss, viz., Mrs
H. Gruber (Garland), Mrs. T. Crowe (Mt.
McDonald), Mrs. J. Simons (Lyndhurst),
Mrs. J. M. Conlon (Randwick, Sydney), Mr.
J. Deehan (Parramatta), and Mr. J. Dee-
han (Parkes).— R.I.P.
