Smith With regret we report the death of a well known Dunedoo person- ality, Mr. John Joseph Smith, of Sawpit Gully, Dunedoo, at the age of 55 years. Mr. Smith passed away at the Dunedoo War Mem- orial Hospital on Saturday last, after a short illness. The deceased was born at Con- dobolin and spent most of his early life in the Cowra district. He came to Dunedoo to reside over thirty years ago and was engaged in various rural occupations in the district. At the age of 24 years, he was married, at this town, to Miss Vera E. Brydon, and he is survived by his widow and seven children, viz., Mary (Mrs. Smith, 13 Hampstead Road, Auburn), Daniel Ross (Auburn), John (Dunedoo) ; Ver- onica (Mrs. Wade, St. Marys), Frederick, Allan and Patrick (all of Dunedoo). Two children prede- ceased him. Interment took place in the Roman Catholic portion of the Dunedoo cemetery on Monday last, the funeral arrangements being in the hands of Gulgong Motor Fune- rals. Rev. Father Healy officiated at the graveside. We offer our sincere condolences to the bereaved family in their sad loss.
