Obituary
One of the best known residents
of Junee, Mrs Minnie Maud Poole,
, died early on Monday morning, aged
64 years . She was the widow of
the late Mr. Harry Poole, a railway
engine driver, and had resided at
Junee for 45 years. At various
times, Mrs. Toole was secretary of
the Benevolent Society, secretary of
the Church of England Women's
Guild, secretary of the Soldiers
Comforts Fund and of the Red Cross
Society, and she held the latter pos
ition until the time of her death.
She is survived by a daughter, Eva,
and two sons, William (Sydney)
and James (Junee), one son, Harry,
having , been killed in action in
France. Burial took place at Junee
on Tuesday, following a service in
St. Luke's Church of England.

FUNERAL
MRS. M. M. POOLE
The funeral of Mrs. Minnie Maud
Poole, J.P., moved from St. Luke's
Church of England, Junee, yesterday,
after a short service conducted by the
Rev. H. Staples. As the coffin was
borne from the church it passed
through a guard of honor composed of
members of the Red Cross Society, of
which Mrs. Poole had been secretary
for the past 12 years. The funeral
cortege was a lengthy one on arrival
at the cemetery. The members of the
Red Cross Society, each carrying a
wreath, lined upon each side of the
hearse as the coffin passed through.
The carriers were Messrs. F.
Hughes (president of the Returned
Soldiers' League), W. D. Walster, F.
Mead and M. Runge. The chief
mourners at the graveside were Mrs.
Poole's two sons, William and James,
and her brother, Mr. George Ashton.
The service at the graveside was con
ducted by the Rev. H. Staples, assist
ed by the Rev. Pike (Temora), a close
friend of the family, and the Rev.
Daniels. One hundred and thirty
wreaths were placed on the grave,
many of which were from public
bodies. Messrs. Black and Pickles
carried out the funeral arrangements.
